ARTWORK N° 23
Woman getting out of bed
This art work is missing many pieces: the head, part of the left arm, the right hand, the lower part of the base and of the legs, so much to consider it a fragment. The artwork belongs to a time when Andreotti emphasizes some stylistic aspects of oriental derivation, without losing contact with a domestic reality, in a continuous research of equilibrium between nature and style. Furthermore, it represents one of the most elevated moments of Andreotti’s art, who in this period creates a group of exceptional sculptures including the “Spanish Comb”, the “Fisherman” and the “Bacchante”.
