The plaster model of this bas relief has been converted into marble. The art piece belongs to the domestic and homely perspective which inspired the artist around 1920. It refers to the medallion with the Maternity and the Spanking both resolved with a plasticity strongly marked and highlighted by a line which leads to forms that broaden and struggle within the action, thus intensifying the popular flavor of the theme.
