ARTWORK N° 4
Caryatid
It is one of the models for two works of art known as Caryatids, from the artist’s Parisian years and from his reflections on Rodin, without leaving aside Troubetzkoy and Medardo Rosso. At the time Andreotti’s research was attentive to Italian and European emergencies, with various results: there was no single underlying theme in the sculptor’s work, but a continuous shifting of interests which will reach their climax at the Bernheim-Jeune Exhibition in Paris in 1911, where his art pieces were on display, cast in bronze and commissioned by Parisian tailor J.P. Worth.
