Woman drying herself
As for the sculptures of the post-Paris period, this Woman drying herself may also be considered belonging to those same years; the figure is captured in the usual attitude of private intimacy, in measured and harmonious gestures while holding in her left hand a towel which frames the entire right side of the woman. The interplay of the nude with the drapery refers to the classical Venuses, though here the ensemble is perceived with original plastic synthesis. The artwork appears ready made in January 1920 from a letter by Ojetti to Andreotti where, while reporting a visit to his studio together with his wife, he tells him that she preferred this sculpture for casting and a purchase.
